(More customer reviews)I was looking for some caps for my deck posts. I wanted some that looked good and protected the end-grain of the posts from rain. I also wanted to find caps that didn't break my budget. These were exactly what I was looking for. They look very nice and were priced great.
The only thing to keep in mind with these is that the tops of your deck posts need to be cut-off very flat. These caps mount with two screws. If the top of the post is not even, then the cap will look crooked. You can "fix" any uneveness by using galvanized washers under the screens to level the cap. You will definately want to take the time to either cut the posts level or use washers during installation.
The bottom "lip" of these caps extend down about 1 3/8" inches. This means that if some of your posts are a little shorter than others, then you can add shims under the caps on the short posts to make them all work out even.
