(More customer reviews)I can't speak to other brands of pocket screws, but I can speak to the downfalls of using non-pocket stainless screws in a pocket-hole application. Don't do it. All I had on hand was 2 1/2" stainless trim screws with a countersunk head. Instead of delaying my project and acquiring the right materials, I used the non-pocket screws with poor results. The countersunk head caused splitting in my workpiece that increased to unacceptable levels over the winter. I have since added additional pocketholes and used these screws with much better results.
