The cards are printed as a series of 2, 4, and 6-panel color cards, each approximately 5 by 6 inches. Cards come in a box.
Projects are intended to showcase an individual's designs and include books, gifts (like luggage tags and refrigerator magnets), housewares (coasters, wall graphics), invitations, personalized shirts, stickers, and totes. Information is tightly organized; contents are organized in terms of project tools, materials, and instructions.
The first, or introductory, card introduces the tools needed to complete most of the projects--glue, scissors, razor knives, double-sided tape, etc. Online resources for paper manufacturers, vendors of crafts supplies and tools, plus other information sources are also included.
The deck's goal is to inspire readers to "get up off the couch and design your world." The Design Deck represents a great execution of laudable idea. In the hands of the right parent or teacher, this remarkably low-priced product can inspire and launch the careers of many next-generation graphic designers and product designers.

(More customer reviews)I was hoping for pages of interesting pictures of re-used materials in creative designs. I hoped the author would have appealed to different design styles in examples of re-used elements - he certainly could have accomplished this. However, this book amounted to pictures from only one garden. The elements were re-used over and over in the book. There were really probably only about 5 or 6 vignettes. Basically, what you see on the cover, is about all of it.
This book is going to get dusty and eventually end up in a garage sale. I will not find much use for it.
